Fly-In Gargnäs, 28-30 June

This year the annual seaplane gathering was held in Gargnäs, the 28th to the 30th of June.

Despite bad weather in some parts of the country came both seaplane, country flights and a helicopter (SSA Chairman, Stig Aggevall from Obbola) and some by car / camper.

A total of three seaplanes visited the gathering.

Pekka Alm and his wife Marja-Lisa in the SE-VAD were the first to arrive. They are real enthusiasts, living in tents and flew on to Årrenjarka Fly-In right from Katrineholm.

Then came the SE ICZ, Sven Hörnells old seaplane which is now repainted and in good condition, with two young pilots from Åre, Mikael Ostling and his flying friend from Järpen.

Last but not least, Stenvalls seaplane with father and daughter Stenvall from Piteå arrived, where also the daughter of the pilot!

Great fun with so many young aviators!

Stig Aggevall arrived with his helicopter and Ulf Levander together with his son-in-law landed with the plane on the field nearby as well as another plane on wheels. Overall we were 17 people.

Susanne and Robert owners at the bed & breakfast Änglagård were fantastic! At short notice this Swiss owners arranged lunch, afternoon meeting on their porch and evening dinner for us. A great tribute to this lovely couple from Gargnäs.

Please visit them at Änglagård during your holiday, and do as the guys from Åre did; swim in thin and take the sauna!

The afternoon session had various discussions, such as fuel issue, safety, new regulations, seaplane future needs..i.e.

See the latest issue of Seaplane Magazine (arriving in the mailbox in mid-July for more information).

It was a shame that not more people took the opportunity to visit beautiful Gargnäs when the first meeting was held here.
We are hoping for even more participants next time!
We who were there can only thank for this time and say: See you again soon!

With best regards,
Birgitta & Tommy Sundqvist (SE-CNY)
